The film grandma’s HERO, by Ben Ozeri and Corentin Monnier, winner of the Audience Award, invited Animacam Festival, in FICVERIN 2018.
Last Saturday, December 8, 2018, the closing ceremony of the International Festival Curtas de Verín III Edition, FICVERIN, http://ficviaxiv.com/es/, was held, in which ANIMACAM participated as a guest Festival.
The members of the organization of that Festival, have selected the following 10 films finalists in the last VI edition of Animacam 2017:
AMELIA&DUARTE (Mónica Santos, Alice Guimarâes-Portugal-Germany), BANGO VASIL (Milen Vitanov-Bulgaria-Germany), BAT TIME (Elena Walf-Germany), GRANDMA´S HERO (Corentin Monnier, Ben Ozeri-Denmark), GROUNDED (Lucas Durkheim-French), I SAID I WOULD NEVER TALK ABOUT POLITICS (Aitor Oñederra -Spain), THE INVISIBLE ELEPHANT (Anastasiya Sokolova-Russia), PERCHED (Liam Harris-United Kingdom), THE EDGE (Alexandra Averyanova-Russia), THE MECHANICAL WALTZ (Julien Dickman´s-Belgium).
The young FIC Festival VIA XIV, that have passed in Verín from the 1 to the 8 of December of 2018, had as main symbol of all its acts the “CIGARRÓN”, emblematic and exclusive character of the Carnival of Verín, the small host city of the festival.
The prize given by public vote, for the best film from among the 10 selected Animacam 2017, was for the film GRANDMA’S HERO, of the students, Ben Ozeri and Corentin Monnier, produced and performed at the Danish animation school The Animation Workshop in 2015.
During the ceremony, a Cigarrón went to the public carrying the prize for the winners, a mask of Cigarrón, a unique and exclusive work of art, handmade with noble materials, by a local craftsman of extraordinary intangible value.
From Animacam we want to congratulate the winners and thank the collaboration of all the authors who with their participation have made it possible to contribute to the diffusion of this young Festival friend who was born in Verín three editions ago and for which we wish a lot of health and Animation.
